Promises from the Revelation

The book of Revelation is about the time of the end and the ushering in of God's Kingdom. It is apocalyptic and prophetic by nature. Without careful consideration it is open to misinterpretation and at times reality distorting application.

Rev 2:26 To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations—

Rev 3:20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.

Rev 3:21 To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.

Rev 12:17 Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war against the rest of her offspring—those who obey God's commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus.

Rev 14:6 Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth—to every nation, tribe, language and people.

Rev 14:7 He said in a loud voice, "Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water."

Rev 19:16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

Rev 20:15 If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Rev 22:14 (NKJ) Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.

Promises from the General Epistles

The General Epistles are James, First Peter, Second Peter, First John, Second John, Third John and Jude. Hebrews is sometimes classified as a General Epistle and sometimes as a Pauline Epistles depending on who is attributed authorship.

James
Jas 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
Jas 1:6 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
Jas 1:12 Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
Jas 1:16 Don't be deceived, my dear brothers.
Jas 2:10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.
Jas 2:26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
Jas 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Jas 4:8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Jas 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

First Peter
1 Pet 1:13 Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed.
1 Pet 1:23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.
1 Pet 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.
1 Pet 4:9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.
1 Pet 5:6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
1 Pet 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Second Peter
2 Pet 1:4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
2 Pet 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

First John
1 Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
1 Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
1 Jn 2:6 Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.
1 Jn 2:17 The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.
1 Jn 2:24 See that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father.
1 Jn 2:25 And this is what he promised us—even eternal life.
1 Jn 3:1 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
1 Jn 3:2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
1 Jn 3:3 Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.
1 Jn 3:9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.
1 Jn 4:8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
1 Jn 4:10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
1 Jn 4:11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
1 Jn 4:19 We love because he first loved us.
1 Jn 5:3 This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,
1 Jn 5:4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
1 Jn 5:5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
1 Jn 5:12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

Jude
Jude 1:24 To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy.

Promises from the Acts

The book of Acts is about the early history of the church. It bridges the ascension of Jesus to the ministry of Paul.

Acts
Acts 3:16 By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see.
Acts 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
Acts 5:29 Peter and the other apostles replied: "We must obey God rather than men!
Acts 16:31 They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household."

Philemon, and Hebrews.
Romans
Rom 1:16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
Rom 1:17 For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."
Rom 3:10 As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one;
Rom 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Rom 3:24 and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
Rom 4:15 because law brings wrath. And where there is no law there is no transgression.
Rom 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Rom 5:10 For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Rom 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
Rom 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Rom 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Rom 15:4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

1 Cor 7:19 Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Keeping God's commands is what counts.

1 Cor 10:24 Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others.
1 Cor 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
1 Cor 15:33 Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character."
1 Cor 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
1 Cor 15:57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Second Corinthians
2 Cor 2:14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.
2 Cor 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
2 Cor 5:18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:
2 Cor 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
2 Cor 6:18 "I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."
2 Cor 10:17 But, "Let him who boasts boast in the Lord."
